Paul Z BOGUS ripoff

On April 10th, I had made a report on Chevy Chase bank on a credit card. I had been a card member of this particular card for, now 10 years. I was able to pay on for nine years and six months. And for the remainder of the six months I have not had the funds to do so. M.R.S. Associates had been calling quite frequently since.

The message they send is "This decision could have adverse consequences, therfore, I am urging you to return my call as soon as possible. Please, give this message your immediate attention. I may give you more details only if you return this call." So, naturally I did call back. And when I called back I was not pleased.

I have been struggling with this. And trying to explain my situation at hand to "Paul Z", him stating that I was just using this as an excuse not to pay my debt. I feel this is defamation of character. Considering all other debts are up to par.

My situation at hand: for a the world to see, this is not a joke. I have been working for 23 years. I am a full time working, single parent, at the age of 39. I make $8.75 an hour, $350 weekly, $1,400 monthly, $16,800 gross annually. Minus taxes est. $2,400 annually, which comes to $14,400 actual take home (that is if I get 40hr per week). Of the $14,400, I have a car payment $295.97 monthly ($3,352 annually). I have car insurance $83. Monthly ($996 annually).

I have to send my child to day care which cost $87 per week, ($348 monthly) ($4,176 annually). Gas average $45 weekly, if I do not go anywhere but to day care, work and home only ($180 monthly, $2,160 annually). Which leaves me $3,716 for food, which is $309 monthly, averaging $77 weekly. This includes buying necessities: laundry soap, deoderant, tooth paste, pull-ups for my one and only child, etc. And oil changes or other maintenance on the vehicle. I am not getting any other help "under the "table", either.

I have gone to apply for assistance. I am currently getting $16. For food stamps, monthly. Day Care assistance they say I make too much money, even though according to W.I.C. If I make $17,705, we should be getting assistance. We were turned away from the Work Sorce because we were not Katrina/Rita victems.
"Paul Z" had wanted to know if there was anyone else that could pay this bill ($6,100). I told him there was no one. He had asked of Evelyn Karnei (grandmother) she has passed away since "91", got the card in "96".

I wanted to know where he was getting his information. I really thought this was a bogus call, he replied "you called me". Yes, I was returning an automated message sent. He wanted to know about my parents and I told him both are currently doing time. He had asked me how much it was before it came to M.R.S. Associates. I told him $4,000. He told me to write him a check for that amount. I told him I could not do that, he said I could. I can't even write a check for $4. Oo much less than for $4,000. Isn't this illegal to write a hot check? Isn't this a federal offence. Even to suggest someone to commit such a crime? I really had to get off the phone asap.

Is there no one that can help me out here? I just do not have the funds. I had even meantioned to "Paul Z" that possible file for bankruptcy, I don't own a car nor do I own a house, but most places do not except bankruptcy under $10,000. So do I have to put up with this haggling me for money I just do not have?

I personnally am under enough duress not having the funds to get by, much less someone making me feel I am a loser mom trying to get out of paying a bill. When all I did was buy food and gas for us last year, because we were not getting enough help. Spending $1,317, last year.
Getting another job would cost more money. Most places start you at minimum wage part time, maybe $6.50. But consider after taxes, and gas, and each hour after 10hrs of day care would cost $6. Oo each additional hr.

It's not feasible. Literally working for free or less. I had paid over $8,385.98 on the card in 7 years. I had only spent $3,007.50 including late fees that were unwarrented on the bill and charged on the card. Chevy chase never gave me the first three years.
