Poses as Legitimate Lender Advance Fee Loan Scam ripoff

This company is running an advance fee loan scam. I was directed to their web site while looking for ways to secure a loan with poor credit. The "GlobalTrust Credit Group" website looks similar to a legitimate loan application web site. I applied for a loan through a website and received a call from a representative wanting to confirm my information. A few days later, he called to tell me I had been "approved" for the full amount of my loan request, with a reasonable 8% interest rate.

Then he told me that because this was a private lender & given my credit history, I would have 2 options to secure the loan. The first would be to give an upfront "collateral payment" of 3 months of payments that would be applied to the principal of the loan. The second option would be to purchase "credit insurance" on the loan that would protect me for 12 consecutive months in case I was injured, lost my job, or was unable to make payments. The insurance would cost $1700 and if I did not use it during the 5 years of the loan, 50% of it would be refundable. The paperwork he sent me had no return fax number, it only said "from: fax department."

Their web site has NO contact information on it. The "agent" left only an 800 number which is answered by a voice mail. You must then dial an extension & have to state your name on a recording before the call is connected. This obviously gives the person the option to answer or not. There is NO other way to get in touch with this "company."

People in vulnerable financial situations, unable to get a traditional loan from a bank, may find this & pursue it. This is NOT a legitimate company & this "loan" will never materialize after you send them money they say they need to secure the loan.
