They charged me a fee just to pay an extra payment! Ripoff

I signed up to have my payments deducted out of my account which they did no problem, during the same month I decided to go ahead and make another payment and pay it off. I was offred to make a rush payment or check by phone I realized I was going to be charged a fee unless I wrote a paper check and mailed it to them, since I am overseas I don't write checks all my bills are paid on line. I don't always have access to a land line to call to the states so I chose to make it a rush payment they have since blocked that option on my account, finally when I did call I was told in order for me to pay any amount on my card I would be charged a fee. I ask the customer service rep to tell me of any company she does business with that charges a fee to pay you bill? She to me none and I ask why this company would do such a thing? Her reply was that's what they told me to do.
