Ripoff Degenerates

I'm not completely sure if my situation applies here or not but I don't know what else to try.

My husband and I recieved a new phone number in December. Since then we've been plagued with collection agencies looking to collect from the previous person with this number. We had around 4 or 5 different companies calling, all of them stopped within a month or so of discovering this number belonged to someone else.

Capital One. Capital One was calling our home constantly, in one day I'd traced over four calls from them with *57. On January 12th the Annoyance Call Center called Capital One and told them to stop, they also claimed to of sent this request in writing. Capitol One then gave our phone number to NCO Financial.

NCO has plagued my home since the start of March. We've received a good deal of 05:30 wake up calls from them. Thankfully no calls past 20:00. NCO has lied about having my phone number in their system, threatened to have me jailed for interfering with their attempts to collect a debt, accused me of being too stupid to read a clock and has called me some pretty foul names to boot. Yet Brian, a manager/supervisor at NCO had no idea what state the area code being called was even in. Being in WA, NCO is THREE HOURS ahead of me! No one will give me a full name or even their position with the company. When they stop yelling and threatening and I get a chance to ask for it I get hung up on. What a business like reply. All of this over a debt my husband and I are in NO WAY responsible for.

I have filed complaints with the FTC, WA AG's office, the PA AG's office, the Better Business Bureau and the Annoyance Call Center. I know at least ONE of these agencies has to of made it clear to NCO's employees that they're barking up the wrong tree. We've also started looking into legal action against the individuals calling as well as the NCO as a whole if possible.

As for the lies NCO managers and collectors have told about NOT having my number in their systems...
Yesterday I found a message on my answering machine from a Maxine Burman (not sure on the spelling). She asked for me by name this time. Supposedly she's with the Compliance Deptartment. I've tried calling her back but all I get is her voice mail.

In every complaint I've filed I've requested that NCO immediately stop calling my home as a desired out come.
Verification of traced calls is easily obtained. They're on the phone bills and show the dates and times these illegal and harassing calls came to my home. They also cost a buck fifty per trace.

I've read a few of the rebuttals by NCO employees on here... The attitude of these employees makes me physically sick, but it's what I'd expect from ALL NCO employees after dealing with those calling me. If I've ran on I'm sorry, it was not my intention to do so. However it should be interesting to see if anyone from NCO even makes an attempt to justify the company's illegal actions in this matter.
