Ripoff credit card hold

Onlinesupplier gave me the sales pitch for thier program. During the end of the sale speech, I mentioned that i had acquired a new credit card, to transfer a high interest account to. At this point, they said, we can get an even lower interest on the new credit card, by letting their accountant assist me with the transfer balance procedure, with the customer service of the new card. The accountant interrupted at one point, [after i gave all personal information as to my identity] to give the operator an account number for a balance transfer, to which i had no idea of who's account number they were giving. I immediatly stopped the conversation before the accountant could give the full series of numbers to their account. I then told my credit card company that i would get back with them after i figured out what they were doing. After i talked to the sale rep. Of onlinesupplier, he never mentioned a figure of money that i was reguired to invest in, only after this incident. I told them that i have to think on this for a day. The next day i cancelled any form of agreement with onlinesupplier to which they sent me a confirmation number to the cancellation. Meanwhile my credit card company tell me there is a hold of $1500.00 on my card from onlinesupplier that can only be taken off by onlinesuppier. I've called onlinesupplier numerous times and various numbers to which i have not been given any direction and answers to resolve. I've sent emails describing the problem, but no response has been sent. I have to wait 30 days before this figure can be wiped off my card, but only if onlinesuppier does not activate it. Meanwhile my life is on hold and my quest for trying to make something of my life seems out of reach. I believed in trusting the internet, but this incident sets me back. Whether this report goes any where, I'm somwhat relieved for you to listen to my situation. I'm a late life bloomer.
