Ripoff scam. BBB could NOT help me, BBB gave me NO warning!

I got a post card in the mail to rebuild my credit. This was about 2 years ago. I gave them a call and it sounded okay. I gave a check over the phone for $189.00, and got my info in the mail to purchase some merchendise. So, I sent a money order in the amount of $54.90, but I never received ANYTHING. I have called MANY times and they kept putting me off. I have a couple of names of possible SUPERVISORS? Who knows if they are real names now? Eventually, there was a message that said "lines busy, call back later". I went to the BBB with no luck, they refered me to the Attorney General. They told me to get a lawyer if I wanted to try to get anything. No one has any answers. I would like to help. I had NO idea there were so many people out there that have been ripped off by this company. The BBB said they didn't have any reports against this company. But that shouldn't surprise me cause I checked their web site for this company (recently) and it said only 1 report and it was settled sucsessfully??? Yeah Right! Not If It was mine!
