Mega Life
UGA Rips off employees with backcharges for loans instead of actually paying them!

Business & Finance

After many years of being at the mercy of employers, I decided to take control of my future for myself and my family. I obtained my insurance license in PA in 2005. I searched for positive opportunities in hopes of doing just that. Along came Mega-Life, aka UGA. At that point, I should have ran as fast as I could, but unfortunately I didn't! I went to "work" for them and was made a lot of promises which simply weren't kept!

The "thousands" of leads they promised turned out to be a mere handful of leads per week, most of which were simply cold call cards from people who had no idea what Mega-Life even was! In many cases the insurance they had was as inexpensive or even better than Mega! Very quickly my famiy's finances began to dry up. When I complained about the leads I was given a song and dance about how it was a bad time of year and that I should "knock on doors!" Yikes! At that point I wondered if I was selling insurance or vacuum cleaners!

Then, there was the ponzy scheme payment for employeess. Supposedly you were paid "advances." These advances were guaranteed once a policy was in force and once you were paid, if the policy was approved the money was yours... There were to be no backcharges at all ever! Or so I was told.

I doubt that a NASA Mathmatician could decipher their commission schedule. I asked repeatedly how much I would be paid if I sold a particular policy. NO ONE COULD TELL ME!!! It was so complicated even the management couldn't tell me how much I'd make if I sold a particular product! One sale netted me $00.00, while an identical sale the following week only netted me $200.00! Of course, there was always a reason, but again, no one could ever tell me what the reason was.

Finally after 3 months of this madenss (shame on me) I quit. Yesterday I got a letter in the mail telling me I OWE the company $1100.00!!! How could this be? Well, the "advances" which we were told we would never have to pay back were actually loans. The moral of the story is if you see Mega-Life and or UGA&Run! Run as fast as you can and as far as you can! The management of this company, I am convinced, deliberately attempts to deceive their "agent, " with bogus claims of money and wealth which are simply unattainable. The only people getting rich are the people at the top. Also be wear... UGA, UICI, Mega-Life are all the same company in addition to a few others! Customers, take heart, not only have you been taken advantage of, but the agent who sold you your health insurance has probably also been screwed!
