Lying, unprofessional company who has taken 6 months and still has not settled our insurance claim ripoff

This company should never have been allowed to insure homes. You cannot ever get in touch with them and when you do finally get someone, they know nothing! They have been giving us the run around with our homeowners insurance claim for almost 6 months now and it is just ridiculous!

WE made a claim with them just after Hurricane Katrina destoyed our home and still have had no settlement. They made the mistakes of not only hiring an incompetant claims adjuster but also assigned our claim by mistake to two different companies that they contract with them causing a huge mess with our claim!

Everyone we contact there has no idea what to tell us and cannot get to the bottom of where our claim stands! Every day we call and call leaving messages mostly because you can never speak to an actual person just to never have our calls returned!

They are now saying that the first adjuster who came out and did the initial inspection whom we gave all of our expense receipts and contents lists to has still not turned in any of the paperwork and they don't know where it is and have decided after making us wait for 4 months since then that they were assigning another adjuster from a different company to come redue the whole thing! Putting us at the starting point all over again!

Now, thinking our inspections were complete back in October, we waited until December and had our house gutted of the mold infested sheetrock and furniture. So of course, now that they sent out another adjuster just a few weeks ago, he is now giving us this argument of "How do they know if we had sheetrock or ceilings or furniture before the storm?" "Do you have the receipts for your paint, furniture, etc.?" This sent us into a fury because of course we didn't evacuate from a hurricane with receipts for the things in our home!

To us this seems like a big scam because they knew that we had significant wind and roof damage and didn't want to have to pay a big claim. Now we are just about being interrogated as to us having to prove every little thing when they are the ones who lost the pictures they took of the roof, home and contents! I have heard numerous stories from people who are also insured by them at how unproffessional they are and problems they are also having with them.

We have made complaints to the insurance commissioner twice and complaints to anyone we can reach at any of the companies involved. None of them seem to care and none of them can get our claim finished and paid! We would never get insurance from LA Citizens again and think that they should be penalized by messing up our claim so badly and doing nothing to get it resolved no matter how many times we call and complain after 6 months!

We still cannot move on with our lives because of them and our lives are stuck in limbo because of this! Stay away from this company by any means, they do not care about their customers!
