Excessive overdraft fees on positive account ripoff

I was just hit with $389.00 of overdraft fees. Calling U.S. Bank today to clarify only got me circular logic and a confusing explanation that didn't make sense. Basically, two deposits were made (12/16 and 12/19) and were posted after charges were made against on my account. I was told that I had pending checkcard authorizations that were made before the deposits. Never, though, did I have (on my end or on-line) a negative balance. Basically, my payroll on the 16th and a $1,000 deposit on the 19th were "posted" a day after, I guess, and ended up getting me 6 $34.00 overdraft charges for at least two days and those miscellaneous fees. Even when I checked against my register, I should have never even gone into negative!!!

Curiously, while going over my register with the local bank representative against my on-line statement, she said, "Oh, no, you can't go by the on-line statement. We have the actual transaction history." Then what is the on-line version for?

What remedies, if at all, do I have??? I'm afraid to ask for a reversal of those charges because they've made them for me in the past. You know, not wanting to sound ungrateful, but this is as excessive as it can get.

I have had overdraft fees reversed before, but this is almost $400.00 worth of
