Business & Finance

On 10/31/05 I recieved a call from a very nice man from a company he called the Credit Development Resource Center. He said he knew that I was having problems meeting my monthly obligations. I asked him how he knew this. He said because I was behind on my credit card payments.

He then told me that his company was a Christian company that helped people like me get back on their feet for just a small fee. With this small fee I would recieve a credit counselor, a credit card with a $1000. Limit and several other incentives.

He asked me how that sounded. I told him that I needed more information. He then went on to extole the companies virtues, telling me that the company had helped several tousands of people, had been in business for over 35 years and was registered with the BBB.

He told me that I would recieve my package via first class mail within 7 to 10 days all I had to do was pay a small processing fee. I asked how much the fee was. He said it was 299.99. I said I couldn't afford that. Then he said he was going to talk to his supervisor.

After a few minute on hold, he came back and told me that his supervisor authorized him to take $100 off to make it $199.99. I told him that was still a lot of money. He said he would extend the credit counseling to 2 years and add a $200 gas card good at any gas station.

I finally agreed but told him I wouldn't have the money in the account until 11/2/05. He said that was just fine, so I gave him my account information. He gave me a confirmation number and said that now it had to be recorded. I said Okay. Then he asked me questions and I answered them.

Later that day I called and asked to cancel my order the woman on the phone took my confirmation number and then said the computers were down but she gave me a cancellation number and told me to callback on the 2nd to make sure the order had been cancelled.

I called back on the 2nd and gave the woman who answered my confirmation number and my cacellation number. She assured me that it had been cancelled.

Fast forward to 11/20/05, I open my bank statement and find this odd charge on it. I can not figure it out. I call the number on the statement and get a voicemail box.

I Googled the number on 11/21/05 and came up with trin fin sol. I kept searching. After over an hour of searching I finally came up with Trinity Financial Solutions, aka Credit Development Resource Center.

I called them and was toldthat the only way to get a refund was to send the package, which I never recieved, back with a letter explaining why I didn't want it. I told the woman that I had never recieved a package and she said she would turn it over to the refund department. I asked for that number and she said they don't have one.

I guess I won't be hearing from them in the future but I have filled a fraudulent claim against them with my bgank.
