Bounced Check Fees Paid Twice, $20 Grew to $300

This starts in 3. I paid over the phone on the due date and received confirmation. The next statement had bounced check fees. Before I checked with the bank, I paid the amount again, with the bounced check fees, to avoid any finance charges. They then started billing me for finance charges on the bounced check fees that I had already paid.

I checked with my bank, and the money was there. They never submitted it for payment. It has gone to 2 collection agencies, and $20 has turned into $300. I complained to all the credit agencies and they answered back that I owe the money and the dispute was closed. I wrote to the Fed. Trade Comm. and got the answer "The commission cannot resolve individual complaints."

A new collection agency sent a letter, and I called them and faxed them proof. They just say, "Just pay it before it goes to litigation." I told them, bring it on. I'm 100% correct, but big business will take advantage of you every time.
