Ripoff, Money getting Scam

I Recieved a letter from Merchant's Credit Guide Services on 8/29/05 Stating that I owed them 103.28 on a credit account with Montgomery Wards. I had closed said account 18 years ago in good standing. The letter stated that a company by the name Capital Asset Holdings Co had Purchased the default account and that Merchants Credit Guide co was working to collect debt. I called the number on the letter and began talking with a woman who I asked about this letter. She asked me my name and then gave me my address and asked if it was correct. It was, she then said for security she needed me to verify the last four digits of my ss#. She then gave me my last four numbers and they were correct. I told her I would not acknowledge that, I just wanted to know why this letter brings up an issue with an account that was closed in good standing 18 years ago. She said that if I had a dispute with the letter That I had to send it in writing to the address on the Letter. I said I have a dispute that's why i'm calling she hung up on me.
