Ripoff, fraudulent billing

We received a collection letter dated 7-22-05 stating that we owed a total of $16,066.29.

The former creditor Chase Providian (Never heard of them and never had an account with them) claims the principal amount was for $7,257.66 then they added interest of $8,808.63.

I will get in touch with them to request verification and who if any was the original creditor.
