Ripoff Scam Overdraft Fees

Bank of America has deceitful practices when it comes to overdraft fees.

Now, first of all, I am not a whiny person who runs around bouncing checks around town. BOA makes it a practice of ranking your purchases from highest to lowest. Now, my account contained 266.00. My last transaction (because I was aware of my online balance) was 40.00. The last transaction was from an atm. The last trans action put me over the limit by 30.00. That, in my books, means that I should be penalized (1) 33.00 overdraft fee. I wont even get into the fact that the atm showed an incorrect balance. How did I end up with 5 overdraft fees???

This happened because BOA took my largest amts and deducted those from my total first. Once my expenditures had equaled my balance, I still had 4 transactions unaccounted for. All of these were in the $2- $25 dollar range.

Now I am on to check my account almost daily, so it came as a shock to me that there were so many overdrafts. And apparently everything was posted on the same day, even though there were some transactions made 4 days ago.

The best remedy to those out there (I gathered after spending a fruitless hour with a customer service RIP) is to have the overdraft protection removed. It is better for that transaction to be declined than to have BOA deceptively jumblee you transaction history for their benefit leaving you to pay 33.00 for a $2 dollar rental paid 2 days before your last transaction. Hmmmmmmmm.

Also, for anyone curious, 2 of my 10 transactions were credit (one for 21.00 and the other was 2.00). The rip (that's right, rip) tried to explain that debit purchases are deducted straight from your account.
