Billed for policy we refused. Cancelled insurance, still billing us. Ripoff

We opened a policy in April with Progressive and they added without our knowledge "uninsured" motorist. At this time we demanded this be removed from our policy. They never did after we repeatedly called and asked them to do so. Although they said we could have this item removed from our policy and that they would fax over the document that we needed to sign in order to accomplish this, they never sent it. We repeatedly called and asked for this document and they kept telling us each time they would fax it and they never did. We then switched policies to All State and then received a final bill from Progressive for $503.11 which included this bogus uninsured motorists rider which we refused. We demanded this be changed and instead of changing this to the correct amount they forward the bill to a collection agency!!! I talked to the Collection Agency who says they are not allowed to settle and I finally called Progressive again and they said it is too late to change anything because they already sent us a final bill!!! Can you imagine if they are allowed to get away with this kind of stuff just 10% of the time how much extra money they can make from people who do not scrutinize their bill???
