$50 for signing up online account. Can't get account, keep my info, ripoff!

I signed up for an account online. I did this under the guise of getting $50 for signing up for a checking account through their site. I went through the process... Only to be denied, based on my credit report!
My credit is fine, I had checked it in the week prior. I have an excellent report. Besides, who denies a checking account based on credit? Anyway, I went to another bank, but Bank of America kept my info and is now sending me junkmail!
Damn them to hell!
