Swipe USA
ATM rip off

Business & Finance

On Sunday I used a Swipe USA ATM machine located in San Francisco. I requested $140 but the machine only gave me $60. I was charged a $2.50 fee for this transaction. While my bank account was charged $142.50.

Swipe did return $80 to my account. My problem is that the ATM machine did not give me the amount of money that I requested so I had to use another ATM machine to get the amount of cash that I needed. I was charged another fee at this ATM.

On Monday morning I called Swipe USA to request a refund of the $2.50 fee. I was advised that they do not do this. I told the Swipe employee that it was not my fault that THEIR equipment did not work. If the machine was unable to dispense my ENTIRE cash request then it should not have given me any money at all.

The employee told me that perhaps the machine jammed. As I told him... Either way it was not MY fault and I should not be penalized because THEIR equipment is faulty. I was advised that he would talk to his supervisor and call me back but this never happened. I was able to obtain a refund by filing a complaint with my bank.

I just wanted to report this company for extremely poor customer service in their inflexibility. Customer Service is obviously not a priorty to them. I will NEVER use another Swipe USA ATM again.
