I was an employee for 14 months and for the first time in my life packed up and walked out of a job. The job that I have loved more than any other. I was discriminated against, harrassed, first ignored and then intimidated when I tried to have the issue resolved.

Worst of all my time sheets were illegally changed without my notification and I was punished for it thinking what I had submitted was correct.

The whole story would take forever to get into but the gist is I have a mental disability that is not protected by law yet and their way of dealing with it was insulting and would draw more attention to it and invite gossip and ridicule.

I was berated and threatened by a supervisor that was not even mine for something that was personal. She then for the rest of the time was intimadating and unprofessional the few times I was unsuccessful in staying out of her way.

I was harrassed by another employee (not sexual) reported it to my supervisor who did not report it to HR as is company policy.

This same person altered my time card without at least notifying me so I believed I had time off which I used for my illness since they would not authorize leave for me yet they did for another employee in a similar but less severe state with the same hire date.

I figured out what happened before the write up came and was prepared with documentation. Since this is totally illegal I believed it would be removed and they would consider themselves lucky I did not report them to the Dept. Of Labor. I wanted no one in trouble I just wanted it fixed. People do make mistakes! No the write up stayed, the supervisor was not reprimaned to my knowledge.

After trying to let it go I went HR with my reveiw that had excellent comments and ratings but was scored too low. I explained all of the issues leading up to this and they agreed that I needed to see the dept manager. He basically payed lip service and acted like I was some whining employee stirring things up. You should have seen the look on his face when I produced documentation of specific incedences and best of all when he checked the time stamp on my computer showing that my timesheet had been changed but not by me! All of the sudden manners and understanding! Unfortunately, the stress of all of this aggrivated my condition to the point I had to get up and leave or end up in the hospital! I did not even tell anybody. I abandoned the job!

I am saying this now because when I recieved my final letter from the company they stated that I was laidoff making me eligible for unemployment I believe. I guess they were trying to keep me from reporting what they know they did wrong. The thing is my ethics are better than that and I won't commit fraud! They were okay with stealing from the company and the government to save themselves. I am not! Tacky. Tacky. Tacky. I am sure the department of labor would be interested in this but I just want people working here or thinking about it to document EVERY little thing and read the manual 3-4 times like I did. I knew the policies better than my superiors did. Always remember C.Y.A.
