I went to Katherine Sockwell of Associated debt consultants in December. Due to a disability, I had entered into a drastic financial situation which I could not get out of and was about to lose my home. I went to Katherine in a frantic and vulnerable state, and boy did she know it! Not only did she know it, she took full advantage of it.

Due to time constraints of foreclosure process my situation required extra attention in order to negotiate with the bank to post pone foreclosure procedings. Katherine assured me that their would be no problem and she would get right on it, she even sent a fax to the mortgage company while I was there to reassure me. However, that's where it started and stopped~she never took another step in trying to save my house! However, she didn't hesitate to cash the $750.00 check I gave her that day. She went directly to the bank and made sure it was cashed before I found out what was going on and that I was going to lose my house no matter what.

I had even asked her if it would be in my best interst to go see my attorney and just skip the step of seeing her and file bankfuptcy instead, she informed me that she felt confident she could work something out with the bank. So desperate as I was I wrote her the check and left her office.in the immediate crucial days to follow, every attempt which I made to contact Katherine was in vain. She ignored my emails and didn't answer my calls. Finally, at 4:00 PM on the evening of the foreclosure court date (court had been at 10:00 AM) I received an email from her telling me that I should go ahead and make that appointment with the bankruptcy attorney! (Hello! A little late now wouldn't you say?!)

Needless to say, I lost my home and was out the only $750.00 I had to my name. Which as a single mother with 3 children who was out of work due to a disability, was quite devastating.

I'm quite confident that Katherine was well aware of her actions. She prays on those that are desperate and vulnerable which come to her at their worst times. This company should not be allowed to operate with such poor and undermining work ethics. What she's doing is not only immorale but illegal! She should be punished for her scandelous business procedures.
