CIC Credit Check Monitoring CIC Credit Check Monitoring & Experian ripoff Ignored my cancellation of membership, chareged 2 months @ 9.95/month causing me $56 in NSF charges Internet

First of all, I want to say I never would have accepted the offer of a free copy of my Experian credit report from this company if I didn't think that because of their affiliation with Experian that they were an honest, trustworthy company. I canceled my membership well within the 30 days after searching for awhile online to find the way to cancel. I did as it said and sent an email to cancel@consumerinfo.com on March 11 of this year.

On March 21 and then again on April 19, they took money from my checking account causing me NSF charges of $56. I only use that account for online purchases and my student loan which is automatically debited from my account so there is not any "extra" money in the account which is why both charges "bounced".

I called CIC and finally got someone on the phone who was very hard to understand but was told the two charges of $9.95 will be credited back to my account in 7-10 days. I was bascially told too bad about the NSF charges and to take it up with my bank. Needless to say, I was very upset. I have much better ways to throw away my moneyif I choose to do so.

My husband called them and he was given more information that I was given. They gave him an address in California to write to try to get the NSF charges given back to us. He was told that the customer "care" number he had dialed didn't have anything to do with that.

Funny they have something to do with being able to credit the $9.95 back to my account! I want to join any lawsuit against these creeps. Knowing that Experian is associated with a company like this has really gone a long way to proving to me just how shady a credit bureau can be. Hey Experian - Why do you allow yourself to be associated with a company that is ripping people off in this way?'

I included Experian's name as one of the companies I am reporting because they are directly involved with this and this has been going on for several years and Experian still has their name associated with CIC.

Is it true that Experian merged with CIC? What a shame that one of the three credit bureaus is part of a scam. I am reporting CIC and Experian to the BBB.
