Wages Garnished Over Providian Card Paid Off In 2003

In 2003 I paid off an unsecured credit card to Providian in the amount of $1,797.00. Out of nowhere, this Asset Acceptance LLC jumped up and started hounding me daily with harassing phone calls demanding money from me for their fees in supposedly purchasing my delinquent account from Providian.

Three years later they are still bloodsucking money from me by garnishing my wages in the State of Florida. The harassing, threatening phone calls continued at work, even after Asset was told over and over, by me, co-workers, and my boss, not to call again! My payroll department has been holding money to pay them, and Asset has asked for an "open-ended" account balance until they tell my payroll department they have enough money
out of me. I do not ever see that happening without help from someone. This is a nightmare from hell and I just want help to make them stop!!! Who can help me with this awful situation?

I have been late on other bills due to this and it is sucking the life out of me...
