Ripoff fraudualent billing in Texas

In 2000 I was solicited by this company to get a credit card machine, which I accepted and ordered in Arlington, Texas. The credit card machine never operated it completely malfunctioned. I contacted the salesperson in Texas several times to get a new credit card machine and they never did show up to replace.

After 4 years I started getting threatening letters to pay over $3,000 for something that didn't function. I disputed the claim, but they continued to harass me with letters.

Then I was recently served and to my shock and dismay, found out that the contract, I supposedly signed clearly stated that they could sue me in New York City and I have to get an attorney in New York to protect myself. I am not going to pay for fraud, but I am afraid to get a judgement against my credit, which I carefully guard. I don't know what to do.

All I can say at this point is to warn others about signing any contract with this company. They are clearly a rip-off company.
