Grant Processing Company
Ripoff fradulantly said grant money was avaliable for me

On February 23 my sister was contacted by this company saying she had been approved for a $8000 grant for only $257. The man was foreign. My sister is not very well off with money and the sound of such a large amount sounded very good. She gave them her checking account number and routing number like they had asked for. The man said he needed to transfer her to the verification office and then the phone hung up. She then started to wonder if what she had done was bad. They called back again and asked to verify her information, she declined and said she was wondering if this was for real and they hunh up again. They called back again several times that day, but she did not answer. She called the bank and put a stop on the check number she had given them and the amount that they would be processing.

The processing center called the next day and she answered. They said her verification process was not complete and wanted to verify her informaiton. She told them that they did not have the money now but if she got their phone number she would call them back. They said before she could cancel the transaction she had to verify the information. She said she did not want the transaction to even go through and therefore did not want to verify the informaiton just to cancel it.

The man tried to be very persistant but she continued to refuse verification. The man preceeded to tell her that her inforamtion was "out there on the Internet and anyone could get it". Her bank assured her that if she did not authorize the transaction they would refund the money back almost immediately if it was processed. As of 48 hours from the first phone conversation, the money had not been taken out of her account.

If anyone knows how long it took for the transaction to go through please post it in your response.
