Fake International lottery gets you to FAX your bank account information and charge you $800 tax for winnings

My wife recieved a letter from overseas claiming that she had won 615,810 Euros.

These individuals claim that a security company, Aegon Seguros SA, is holding your winnings, and to fax an enclosed form to them. The form they provide requests your FULL name, address, DOB, signature, phone#, marital staus, occupation, nationality, etc.

They aslo want:

Bank Name
Account Number
Swift Code (routing #), bank address, etc.

I looked up Aegon Seguros SA on the internet and found:

Aegon. Es/

This is a legitamate company, but the form you are asked to fax back is DEFINATLY not from Aegon Seguros; it is on plan white stock, and printed with a inkjet printer. A company of this stature would use letterhead, and it would probably have arrived certified mail if it was from a security comapny... Don't ya think?

In addition, the logo used on the form was not even close to the logo on Aegon Seguros' website!

Long and short of it. DON'T BE FOOLED!!! NEVER GIVE YOU PERSONAL INFO OUT VIA FAX, over the phone, or to anyone who has CONTACTED YOU. (i.E. Someone calls and says they are with your bank, and then proceeds to drill you for your info, BEWARE... For if it is really your bank, they will already have your info... Right? If ever in doubt get names and #s and tell them you will call them back. See if they match your banks published number).
