Is A Joke! I've been told I have to wait a week to use my new card! Ripoff

To all,
I just got my new Aspire Visa; after reading with great interest about some of the other experiences with this company, I've decided to cancel my account. Since I've not used it yet, thank God, there shouldn't be any problems. It is a standard practice that a customer can cancel their credit card account within the first 30 days and not owe a penny provided they've not used it yet. Again, thank God I haven't used it. Get this, I was told I had to wait a week to use it after my first payment! Unheard of.
Additionally, it's a $15.00 charge to make a payment online or over the phone! $15.00!! Has anyone ever heard of a company doing this? I'd be interested in reading about it.
Thanks to all of you who have left such great information regarding Aspire Visa / Columbus Bank as you've saved me countless hours of frustration and anger. My deepest thanks to you all.
