Ripoff-Company that takes money from honest people trying to build credit and the people get nothing in return

Business & Finance

I have been trying to get a credit card for some time to help build credit, but have been turned down constantly due to lack of credit. Then i got a phone call from First Link Benenfits one day while i was at work saying that i was a pproved for a credit card. I thought that what they were saying sounded like a good deal. I was busy at work and the companies operator was talking very fast. He said that he'd be quick since i was busy... Being busy i didn't even take the time to think about the fact that it all seemed to good to be true. No interest for three years and a free computer with a one time fee of $354.90i gave them my account numbers and agreed to the transaction without really thinking about until after i got off the phone. And realized that i didn't even remember them telling me the companies name. It wasn't until after the money was pulled from my account that i learned the name... My mother suggested that i look them up on the better business burea. I did this and was horrified to find out that the company was a scam... I am in the process of trying to get my money back and have to close my checking account so that they can no longer rip me off. I am currently out of 355This company rarely answers their 800 number. I called about ten times before speaking to someone that tried to convince me that the company had mailing problems and that i would soon recieve my card... Each time that i called i was on hold for about ten minutes before their phone cuts you off and says to try again laterIf any company ever calls you with an off like this do not give out your personal account information... Ask the companies name and tell them you'll get back to them after you check out the company with a better business burea... CassandraWhitewater, Wisconsin
U.S.A. I recently received a letter from Sweeptakes Information Reporting Services (S.I.R. S) saying I had won $677,519.00. After reading the letter I found that I had to send a processing fee of $21.95. HOW INSANE IS THAT! I starting researching the company and found that they had ripped off numerous people. I was one of the lucky ones, I didn't respond to the letter. But what I did do was contact the Local DA's office of Las Vegas, Nevada (Clark County). O anyone that receives this letter please keep it and call the DA's Office. The phone #'s to call are (702) 455-5320, (702) 455-4761, (702) 455-4755, or (702) 455-4711. The numers are normally real busy, but keep hitting redial till you get through. I also took the liberty of contacting the Local news stations out there. I sent over the story by email, and called as well. Channel 5 Fox news station: KVVU-TV Channel 13 ABC news station: www.ktnv. ComUnfortunely in Las Vegas anyone can get a Po Box, and they could live any where. But since they are using the Post office to commit a crime it is a felony, and the Post office could also press charges. So keep those letters and contact the da. Also keep a copy of them for your records. Contact your local news stations< and newspapers, get this out in the open.whitneyromeoville, illinois
