When you call for a consultation, you are lead to believe when you sign up for their service you will be out of debt I no time at all.
They will call the creditors and give you time to save some money and pay off the account with a fraction of what you owe.
You are told to stop paying your credit card bills so the creditor will be forced to negotiate with you.in my case this was a very big mistake.
Within three month I had law firms calling me at home and at work. I had a judgment placed against me and was stressing more than ever.
You need to call them daily so you are not forgotten. At one point I agreed to settle with a creditor and the person I was dealing with at Consumer left.
I was never told the offer was accepted until it was off the table. Now after one year of paying them fees, I owe so much on my accounts that if I settled the accounts for the fraction I was told I will be paying the full amount owed when I started the program.
Now is you go the wed site consumerlegalcenters.com you get a not that they are no longer accepting clients.
Don't get swindled like I did. I went from having a hard time paying my bills to having no way to pay and having to look at filling for bankruptcy.
