Ripped off my credit rating provided inaccurate financial information

I contacted Debt Relief of America to help me resolve my high credit card debt. I spoke with Don Williams, who told me he was the company president. He was very friendly and as I was upset in trying to figure out what to do, he preyed on my trust.

I was told that I was not to pay any of my bills and to let them go from now on. I was instructed on how not to answer the phone, to use caller ID, and even to get a device to hang up when creditors would call. He said that after 90 days they would stop calling. Mr. Williams told me that once my bills were 3 months past due that he would contact the creditors and be able to settle the accounts for 40 to 50% of the original amount. During that time I was to send a monthly payment to DRA of over $500. The amount would accrue and he would use that to pay off the creditors when I had enough in my account to settle one at a time. T that time I was to set up a "savings" account that would be my money and I would have access for settling the accounts. This was handled by Global Client Solutions.

Well, the company took the money and never settled anything. Mr. Williams "left" "his" company and they had me work with someone named Taquita. Once I signed up, I could never get anyone to respond to me - phone, email, etc.

I decided to immediately cease when I could get no response and received a summons to appear in court from a creditor. I was about to send extra money to them to build my account faster, but I'm glad I didn't! They won't return my "administration" fees of nearly $2200, nor my "savings" account approaching $1500!

In three weeks I have resolved what needed to be done and all bills but one have been paid off and that one will be soon! Meanwhile, not a word from DRA - even though I was guaranteed customer service, counseling and guidance in negotiating with my creditors!
