Bank of America refusing to release flood insurance money

Our mortgage holder, Bank of America is refusing to release the remainder of our flood insurance money. We are Hurricane Sandy victims. My husband and I have spent countless hours on the telephone with various customer service representatives. The worst one was Amy Leonard yesterday. She would not connect me with a supervisor and only after TWO HOURS on the phone (probably half of that on hold with her) did she give me the number for the office of the president.By that time, the office was closed, of course. We followed Bank of America's instructions to the letter, sent in all paperwork, etc. They never notified us that anything was wrong. Now, two months after the storm, having been in an unfurnished rental all this time, they tell us that they cancelled our check and intend to hold our insurance money indefinitely. They have already sent out an inspector, who took pictures recording the progress of the rebuilding. He has us assessed at 70% completion. They do not care. Now, they say they need receipts from day one for EVERYTHING done and purchased that was not included in our carpenter's estimate. We were told to demo everything asap to prevent further damage. Never did they tell us that they would not pay us for that. I have been in the hospital from the stress of all of this. We have all been sleeping on the floor of this rental for two months. We want to go home. Shame on you, Bank of America. I will never use your bank again and look forward to releasing my home from your slimy grips. I would give any other bank my business. An attorney, the Governor and the media are my next steps.
