Financing Alternatives, Inc. Suckered me too!!!

I spoke with one of their representatives in October of this year. I was told Financing Alternatives, Inc. Would not withdraw funds from my account until the authorization form that they would be mailing me in the next couple of weeks was returned to them with one of my personal voided checks.

Here's where they suckered me...

The telephone representative and the form that they send does not say they will not withdraw funds from your account without returning the form with a voided check. What he/she and it says is, "Your order will not be "completed/shipped" without completing and returning the form and your voided check." This statement leads the average person to believe that their order would not be finalized, thus giving Financing Alternatives, Inc. No cause to draft your account. So the average person would just throw the packet of information away and not think anything else of it. This, my fellow countryperson, is a great mistake.

Always, always, call and cancel because the above statement I quoted is their defense.

After $71.98 was withdrawn from my account, I wrote Financing Alternatives, Inc. To complain. I was told their audit department carefully reviewed the recorded phone sale and found that it was established during the phone sale that their layaway agreement was legally binding, and that any layaway payments were non-refundable, therefore they are unable to refund the money taken from my account.
