Loan Modification, HAMP PROGRAM, was told we were eligiable for them, took our money $3500. And did nothing, have tried to contact them with no response. We were only one month behind in our payment. O

We called them in Aug. 2012 to see if we could get a loan modification, they took some information and said we were eligible for the hamp program. We were only one payment behind at that time. They said that we didn't have to made any payments that they would go to the end of the loan, and that it would only take about 6-8 weeks. Thank goodness we kept making our payments. Their fee was $3500. It was very difficult for us to come up with the money but we thought we would save us in the long run. So we paid them. They ask for all kinds of paperwork sent it in. They did keep us up to date on anything that was going on. Everytime they just said they were negotiating with the bank. So in Dec. The bank sent us a form for Special Forbearance to help us caught up the payment we were behind. They said we had to sign it that it was the best deal. We could have caught th payment upon our own with out having to pay $3500. So we feel they did nothing for us. Have sent them several email letters about a refund but have heard nothing. If we had listen to them about not making any more payments we would be losing our home.
