Universal Paintball QUAD BIKING Horror - Belsay, Newcastle Upon Tyne

I recently (yesterday 11th March) took up the quad biking for 2 people voucher at Belsay Ponteland, with horrific consequences.

I went there with my partner for a birthday treat at a cost of £35.

I encountered the following problems:

1.instructions were extremely poor and short on how to use the bikes, although they did include %u2018the brakes dont really work%u2019 comment, which later came back to haunt me. Once you had signed the disclaimer they were not interested in questions or helping you.
2. After about 30 seconds of the session i realised that we had no brakes as i plummeted over a log ramp at the bottom of the hill at approx. 20 miles per hour. The quad and i jumped 10ft in the air flipped over and landed on me as i went crushing to the floor. Once i came around i decided i did not want to continue, the instructors main concern was for the quad bike which had almost killed me.
3. I went straight to the hospital and was there for 3 hours of x-rays and blood tests with a suspected fractured rib and heavily bruised shoulder and collar bone. I was (and still am in extreme pain)

I appreciate that quad biking is dangerous but ALL of the quads were in a really poor state of repair and none of them had any brakes, I quote %u2018had the one with the best brakes%u2019

I have passed my complaint to the environmental health and also trading standards to try and avoid someone getting killed.

This is the first complaint that i have ever made and i am only thankful that i wasn't killed.
