Golden Retriever skin problems and allergies

I purchased a golden retriever puppy in June from Purebred Breeders. Riley is our fourth GR so we are aware of the breed and attendant health problems. He arrived with pyoderma and a black and red belly. He was put on Prednisone and an antibiotic to clear it up. During the last year, Riley has been on Prednisone six times to clear up chronic skin issues. It was so bad that he was chewing off his coat to itch himself. I called and emailed Purebred Breeders numerous times. Each time I was told that they needed to know more. After spending thousands of dollars on veterinarians, shampoos, hypoallergenic toys, bowls and bedding, I was told that they do not warranty the dog against allergies. That's right, they dismissed his problem as allergies and claimed that I am on my own. I cannot ethically breed this dog - despite the fact that they allowed it. He will have to be neutered and maintain a steroid filled life. Purebred Breeders offered me no compensation. They are despicable. The words 'con artists' come to mind when considering their business practices. Warranty means nothing to them.
