I received a purse as a Christmas gift and did not like it. I took it to Kohl's to exchange it and was told that I had to get a purse for the exact same price for an even exchange. I asked if I could get a more expensive purse and pay the difference and was told that I couldn't do that. Then I asked if I could pick a less expensive purse and was told that I couldn't do that either, and that I could only return the purse for a total of $6, even though the purse cost $23.60. So I went to the trouble to pick out a purse for exactly $23 dollars and waited in customer service and was then told that I couldn't make the exchange because the purse I picked cost $23.70. I asked to talk to the manager and she said the same thing, that the "system" would only equal exchanges for the exact amount. Otherwise the purse was worth only $6 of store credit. I have never shopped at Kohl's and will not again because of such a stringent and ridiculous policy. I am now stuck with this purse that I do not like because they couldn't do an exchange for 10 cents that I would have gladly paid plus tax.
