It was our first vacation in a long time, and I wanted it to be special and memorable; booked our flight and make a hotel accommodation and started counting down to June 30th.
Made it on time to the airport for our 8:08pm flight to Tampa, a few minutes to 8, a delay and a gate change was announced and this was only the beginning. United airline kept delaying and changing gate without giving any explanation until around 10:45pm when we finally boarded a plane, the plane pulled out from the gate at about 11:20pm; few minutes later, it was announced that the plane have an engine problem and the flight was eventually cancelled around 12:00am. Our flight was rescheduled for the next day July 1st 6:15am.
My husband and I had to pass the night on a couch in the airport because united airline staff said that was the best they could offer us. I would like to know what form of compensation united airline is willing to make for the suffering my husband and I had to endure sleeping on that couch in addition to reimbursing us for the hotel accommodation that we paid for in Tampa.
