Homestead Suites
Credit card fraud, dangerous, bad management, unresponsive staff, noisy

Traveling & Tourism

On Friday March 30, I booked a room using my business credit card (the first and only time it was used in a business transaction in Tennessee) and the next day I got a call from my bank notifying me an attempt was made to purchase groceries at a local Kroger (Lavergne Tennessee). I had my card cancelled to eliminate any additional fraudulent attempts to use it. It took two days for me to move funds around to a different account so I could report to work in Nashville. Consequently, I lost two days of work (I was supposed to start on Monday April 2, actually started on Wednesday April 4) because of the credit card fraud. When I arrived at the hotel I told the manager (Abby Butat) about it; instead of being sympathetic and offering to assist in some way, she became very combative and defensive and refused to do anything unless I provided "proof" that it was one of her staff.

Then last night (April 7) the neighbors next door got in an argument with each other which began around 8PM and didn't end until after 2:30AM. I called the front desk 3 times asking the clerk to get these people to quiet down (the couple that was arguing were screaming at each other, slamming and throwing things around the room); the first time the clerk said she would take care of it so I waited half an hour and when the arguing continued I called the front desk again. This time she told me was busy and would get to it when she had the chance. Another hour went by and I called again and told her I would call the police if she wouldn't do anything about it. Another hour went by and the couple started arguing again, so I called the front desk again.By this time it was after 11PM so when I called I spoke to someone named "Dena"; she asked me what room I was in and I told her. She said she would take care of it. Shortly after someone knocked on the neighbors door (room 156); whoever this person was told the maniac which room was complaining about the noise; the next thing I know this guy is standing in front of my door screaming at the top of his lungs, cursing and demanding I come out of my room; which I did not do. I didn't call the police either because I was certain they would just tell the guy to settle down and as soon as they left the situation would have gotten worse. I am convinced that my personal safety was in jeopardy and was made doubly so because of the inaction of the staff and the incredible stupidity of the person from the hotel who told the maniac which room was complaining. I have been an IT road warrior for 20 years, have traveled throughout the southeast US and this is the first time that I felt I was in physical danger.

I will not be back nor will I recommend this hotel to anyone.
