Refuse to Reschedule or Refund

I scheduled for an Alaska cruise on 10 May leaving out of Vancouver, B.C., Canada. I live in Stockton, CA. I decided to drive to Canada. 09 May coming thur Ashland, OR I felt ill. Pulled into a Chevron gas station and they called 911. I was taked to a hospital and in surgery for 8 hours. I was in the hospital for 7 days. When released I came home and was readmitted to on Saturday and takened back to surgery and in the hospital for another 7-8 days. Since then I have had 2 more surgeries. My doctor sent a letter to Princess Cruises stating I had major surgery and gave dates and stated I was on my way to the departing point. Princess Cruises stated that they can not reschedule nor refund my money ($1,291.69). I asked to purchase insurance for my trip, they did not offer insurance for this trip. I do not know why! Hopefully you can help me. They are suppose to be a major cruise line and yet they want to take advantage of people.
