Ever since Minnesota lost NORTHWEST AIRLINE WHICH folded into Delta Air AND after taxpayers paid a bundle to save the airline, the route from MPLS/ST PAUL AIRPORT to Ft Myers, Florida is 11 to 18% higher than comparable routes to CALIFORNIA, AZ, TEXAS AND OTHER POINTS IN FLORIDA. See orlando, fl for instance only 110 miles north. Anyone traveling out of msp airport pays a premium plus having gotten screwed paying big taxes over the years.
