Ramada Plaza Resorts
Misleading promotion with holding that this was actually a timeshare scam & Orlando

The Ramada Plaza Resorts mailed me a promotion offer for a vacation package consisting of a stay at their resorts & a cruise to the Bahamas. The price per person was $698 & I was responsible for the state taxes on the hotels & car, per day, including all drinks aboard the cruiseship.

I spoke with several representatives scheduling arrangements & not once did anyone say this was a timeshare promotion for the Berkley Properties. When my husband & I arrived at the Ft. Lauderdale Welcome Center to pick up our hotel voucher, the woman stated this was a promotion to look at another resort & it was to determine if we wanted to come back & vacation there. Again, not once did the woman say this was a timeshare promotion.

Only until we arrived at the Berkely Properties & spoke with a representative did we find out this was a timeshare promotion. I was five months pregnant & we were held by the representatives for 3 hours. The more we said "no" the more persistant & derogatory the representatives became.

Once we were being signed out of the promotion did we find out the only way we could have received our cruise vouchers was to go through this promotion. Not once did Ramada Plaza Resorts inform me that this entire vacation package was around a timeshare promotion & the cruise company & the hotel company was contracted out through them.

The Ramada hotel room we stayed in Ft. Lauderdale looked like a place a person would rent out by the week. There were visible stains on all furniture upholstery, the toilet seat was cracked & its paint was bubbling, & the room door needed to be literally slammed in order to be closed.

The cruise ship wasn't much greater. It was 1/4 the size of your typical cruise ship & I found a heavy duty staple in my mouth after biting into a piece of pizza during the midnight buffet. I notified the head chef & I received nothing for this extreme health hazard.
