Valerie Jordan
Vacation Rental Scam in New York City

Traveling & Tourism

Found a vacation apartment listed on craigslist for New York City at 1600 Broadway. Emailed the said Valerie Jordan at myhome20002000@gmail.com several times and she stated she required a wire transfer to her Bank of America Account. I requested paypal but she said she had problems with them in the past. So, I went to Bank of America who verified they would protect my money like a credit card charge if sent from a Bank of America Account to a Bank of America Account. I asked them numerous questions in trying to verify it was a legitimate account. They varified it was active but I needed a zip code. Contacted Valerie who told me the zip code was for Detroit. She used to live there but lives in NYC now and only used this account for her apartment wire transfers so had never updated the zip code. Bank of America verified that was the correct zip code but would not verify for me if the person lived in New York City.

Again I went over my concerns with Bank of America and the Personal Banker assured me that I would be protected. I set up a new account because i felt confident since they said they would protect the money going from a Bank of America account to a Bank of America account and wired the money. She wired back saying she had received the funds. I asked then for specific check in information and no reply. I received an email from her daughter LaTonya about 1 week later saying her mother was ill and she would get back to me soon. About 1 week later she advised her mother had passed and they would be getting in contact with me in about 5 days. Still heard nothing and had to book a hotel. Beware of the Valerie Jordan, Valerie D Jordan, Valerie L Jordan and Bank of America.
