Has anyone retreived their travel fees?

We received our "free" cruise offer in March and mailed our $ and travel request form in adhering to all the fine print, etc.
We received our "oops, we can't accommodate you on those dates" letter in July. We're sending in another form - just for the formality and expectation that it will be rejected as well. Then the year will be up.
I want to know if anyone out there in cyberspace has been successful in getting the additional fees they paid for the cruise and airfare back - and - how they did it.
