Traveling & Tourism

This company "Elite Travel Services" solicited me over the phone and their website suggests they have a partnership with Travelocity which I highly doubt. Mr. Charles Lawrence (aka Chuck) spoke very quickly. He had a request from a "Mexican America" business man and was booking all these rooms at a time share resort for three weeks over Cinco De Mayo. Chuck tried to make it sound like he knew what Mexican resort package I have but I am not sure if he actually knew.

Like I said, Chuck spoke very fast. I actually had him to slow down and repeat. Once, I wrapped my head around what he was offering me ($2400 x 12 weeks or 1 BR rooms=$28,800), I smelled a scam.

Chuck did know how the resort worked though. He was right when he explained that it had all 1BR 1BTH rooms. He insisted I had a 2BR time share and that I had 2 weeks and 1 banked week. He also said I had 3 floating weeks. Therefore, he said a 2BR for 6 weeks was equal to a 1BR for 12 weeks and his company was willing to pay me $2400 per week for 12 weeks or (12) 1BR rooms.

I actually stopped at this point and asked him who his company was and how he came to call me. I was unclear if he was with the property or the company I bought the time share with or what. At this point he assured me I was a current client of Elite Travel Services. I said I wasn't sure but at this point I was certain I wasn't. I just wanted to find out where this process was leading.

Chuck said, "contracts... Never get to his desk unless you are a current client of Elite... And that a Mr. Jackson or Mr. Anderson would call me in the next morning with answers."

"I'll get to the bottom of this." Chuck said valiantly LOL.

Sure enough Mr. Jackson called me the next day confirming that "I" wanted to get my enrollment number." This is when the bait and switch happened. It turns out I wasn't enrolled after all. They had my information because I had done a "Test Ad" through a "Mr. Rivera..." he went on. Mr. Jackson even took the time to read through fakeass paperwork about this "Test Ad" I had run. Along the way, he then tried to feel me out by throwing out dollar amounts for the enrollment. $6000, $4800, etc... I didn't respond at all. Mr. Jackson said since they already had the reservation (remember the $28,800 they were going to pay me for my time share weeks/rooms), he wanted to see what he could do about this standard marketing fee. I let him find out whatever he wanted but I knew what was coming. They wanted me to pay the $4800 fee and get it out of the way.By the time they were done with their predatory game, they were tactfully suggesting they were just trying to help me.

Beware of this tactic!!
