Fees charged by porters at YVR

I arrived from Texas at YVR on August 19 and asked a porter to help me with my two bags, lifting them off the carousel and taking me to a taxi. He was already waiting for another woman with 2 suitcases. He waited at the most 15 minutes for all of our bags. When I got to the taxi, I gave him $5.00, but he refused it and said the fee was $10. I did not see any notice posted re this charge, nor did he show me anything proving his assertion. If that is the rate, I think passengers should be advised of it by notices posted at the different carousels. We want tourists in this Province - this is no way to treat them.
