Rented Away Our Vacation

We made a reservation with Economy, using a credit card to confirm the reservation. A few hours before the scheduled pick-up, we called to see whether we could get the vehicle early to start to the Monteverde Cloud Forest to avoid the holiday rush.

Economy informed us they had rented the vehicle to somebody else, and no eother vehicles were left.

Costa Rica needs to crack down on rip-offs of tourists. Economy may have a gotten a few more dollars for their rental, but Monteverde merchants - hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions - got nothing from nine stranded vacationers.
