Ripped my family off and demand money for somthing I never purchased

This company stole 5,000 dollars from my family after a bogus presentation. I contacted the consultants of this company the following day after the presentation and was told that I had to cancel the contract in writing. My family flew out that same day, I wrote a letter once back home, but also found that this company had taken a lump sum of money out of my account. I contacted them immediately and told them that I wanted the money to be refunded because I was not interested in purchasing anything with them, I was then told that I was not able to cancel, and now I am receiving letter from a company call Meridian Financial services, located in Asheville NC, I have filed a complaint with the BBB. But there is not much that can be done. I refuse to give this company anymore of my money, but I am unsure what other steps I can take in getting my money back.
