Failed to re-emburse for lost luggage

My fiance' and I were on the Crown Princess for a 7-day cruise, out of Port Everglades Fl, which sailed on Dec 5. We checked in that morning around noon, with five pieces of luggage, but only four made it to our cabin. A "search" of the ship was performed, according to the front desk, which came up with nothing. As the missing bag contained most of my partners clothes... including evening ware, underware, costume jewlery, and more, she had nothing to wear but the clothes on her back, plus a few things in her other bag. They offered her the "loan" of a very ratty looking 3-piece outfit for the two formal nights, and $100 shipboard credit, and basically told us "tough luck, we handle 10000 pieces of luggage every trip, and it is no big thing to lose one! Now, consider the situation of a woman, having to go seven days without a change of clothes! I was impossible to replace anything from the shops onboard... They had no panties of bras, nor anything but over-priced junk mostly. At Georgetown Grand Caymans, we went ashore, in search of a department store... But there is no Dillards there, nor anything like that.

Well, our cruise was pretty well ruined... It was my Christmas gift to her... And while we made the best of it, it was not fun. We have been on many cruises, but this was the worse experience ever. To top it off, we are told by them that they will only pay $250 tops for our loss... For over $1000 worth of things, not to mention the loss of the bag itself, plus the ruined cruise itself. It certainly wasn't our fault that THEY lost her bag... I guess we were just ripped-off. Great customer relations, Princess Cruises. While you don't care, know that while we will take many future cruises, it won't be with you.
