It happened on December the 15th 2008 It was my first cruise on the 2nd stop which was Antigua we were following our artinery from princess cruise lines to be back on board by 6 pm we arrived at 5:05 pm. Aparently 4 people just got on and they pulled the plank up and were still docked we were told by the port guys dont worry we have a pilot ship ready and they will get you on. Then he said its the captians call and he said no. It was pretty scary your worst nightmare. They broke into the safe and gave my friends passport to the pilot boat with no money or charge cards I was getting pretty scared. Sitting on the dock it started to get dark as he left us sitting there for 2 1/2 hours the rats were coming out and I heard that a month ago 2 vacationers were robbed shot and killed there I was frightened didnt know what will happen to us. Finally the captian ok"d hotel room and airfare to get us to st maartens the next distination of the ship. Apparently they anounced the changes but you dont here it in your room when you are still in bed nor were there any signs indicating any change of boarding times. My friend is 64 yrs old and needed her medication which was on board in safe. They wanted us to pay for all the expences that occured to get us to the next destination and we refused to pay as it was not our fault and the captian should of let us on. I tried to speak to many of the directors on the ship to no advail they didnt want to discuss this matter. I have had alot of stress during the trip with this extra expence I can not afford hanging over my head as they would not agree that they would pay for it and were scaring me that maybe I couldnt get off at the end of the trip I didnt know what would happen. I also was getting charged for extra dock charges which I balked at saying it was all included in my trip. And the ship had 1800 britians and just a handful of us canadians. So I felt we werent important as when I asked the head accountant why he was charging is extra dock charges and my friends from britian were not charged he simply said. The brits dont get charged. Gee what is this. Needless to say that Princess Cruise Lines has ruined my whole trip worrying about this matter and wouldnt resolve it with me so I could possibly relax and enjoy the one vacation I get a year. There for this canadian will never go on a cruise again as I felt my life was in danger sitting on the dock with the rats.
