Ramada Plaza Resorts Imperial Vacations Florida Bahamas Cruise Deals
Got sucked in but managed to get a full refund

Traveling & Tourism

Just like many of you out there, I was just suckered into this deal too. I received a phone call stating that I had won a special price for a vacation in a draw I had entered at the wedding show in Winnipeg last weekend. Thinking that this was a good opportunity to get a budget friendly honeymoon, and after the intense pressure sales tactics by the salesperson, I signed up and had $598 charged to my credit card. Before I gave them my info, I was assured several times by the customer service rep that I had 30 days to cancel, no conditions.

Immediately after hanging up with them, I found this website (THANK GOD!!!) and confirmed my suspicions that this was not all that it seemed. I called them back right away and had to wait no hold for a while, then talked to one person (george) who told me I could not get a full refund, but would give me half back. I called back again and spoke to another "specialist" (Lauren) who offered me another $150 off, but no full refund. A third call back got me back to George, who again said that he could only give me $299 back. This of course made the whole operation seem much more seedy as the reps clearly aren't communicating. I asked to speak to a manager and George said, in a rude and condescending tone, that he would tell me the same thing.

It didn't matter what reason I gave for being unsatisfied, his dismissed it and said "well why did you buy it then? Didn't you want it?"

Finally my fiance and I called back on a three-way call and spoke to George again. Again, we were put on hold for quite a while, but we were connected with Jonathan, a very nice rep. We informed him that we were no longer interested in the trip. He tried to pry for personal info, no doubt to try and sell us an extension or something, but he accepted the reasons we gave and assured us that we would receive a full refund and a refund post card in the mail. He also provided us a cancellation number. I will update the post when I do receive my money back.

The point is, with this company, just keep calling them back and keep asking for a supervisor, manager, anyone else. You may be on the phone with them for a while, but it's worth it to get a crappy vacation out of your life. Also, read the Florida Statues and Constitution; it gives peace of mind and strengthens your case. And for all of you out there like me, feeling stupid for getting caught by this, there is hope. Suck it up and call them back ASAP! Don't let it wait.

Hopefully my fiance and I will find a quality vacation for our honeymoon.

Hope this helps!
