Forced quit... On 34 hour restart

Traveling & Tourism

I recently was forced to quit. I was in Indiana, just dropped off a load, when i informed dispatch that i needed a load towards my house in missouri via qualcomm. My fleet manager (Jason Thurman) waited until it was time for him to go home, after 6 hours of waiting for a load, to write back and tell me he'll get me rolling in the morning. The next morning i called in and they informed me that jason was on vacation, and he didnt let them know that i was waiting for a load. Well dispatch pulled some strings and got me a load that was 20 miles away that was suppose to pick up the same day.

But when i got to the shipper they machines were down. So in all i waited 32 hours 2 hours short of a 34 hour restart, all because the time they schelduled for me to pick up and delivery time was tight. When i got back to Missouri, i dropped off my load at recievier and put in the proper code for the qualcomm, then i texted them that i was headed back to the yard for my 34 hour restart, because i only had 6 hours left to drive.

I drove all the way back to Earth City (20 miles from where im at) unloaded my personal stuff that i take home with me. Now i know they recieved the message because the qualcomm let you know that they recieved them. They sent me a load assignment that leaves out the same day. I informed them again that i was going on my 34 hour restart. They said i had hours left and i better take the loads while they or coming in. After recent experiences i knew this wasn't a good choice according to DOT laws so i went home, and let them deal with it, i left the same day and went out of town in my personal vehicle, and they closed my payroll card with my money on it.

I called back up there and they said my fleet manager was the only person that can open my card i called him back that Monday and he told me it was closed due to an MIA. He opened it i got my money and came back home. I started to put in a 2 weeks notice just in case i found another job quick but he said lets just shake hands and go separate ways over one mia that wasnt my fault
