US Bank
Premeditated Overdraft Extortion on a debit card knowing the account was in the red and still approving purchases, Mafia Banking at its best

Traveling & Tourism

I do not own Checks, I only use a Debit Card, period. When I use a debit card, US Bank instantly knows what I am spending and how much I have in my account. The debit card was used to buy materials for my business and that is all.

For the first 3 months after opening the account I had to go and withdraw cash because US Bank could not get their act together and get me the debit card. Once I received the card the fun started, as with any small business money comes in and normally goes out faster. I was unable to access my account on line, thanks again to US Banks poor service.

Knowing my funds were low I went into the bank and found that I had $200 in overdraft charges, money was taken from another account and deposited in US bank to go from Red To Black on the account. I asked that they stop approving purchases when funds were not available, if I do not have the money in my account, decline the purchase, it is that simple.US Bank's robot teller's response "We are only doing the customer a service in case of emergency". My response "Don't do it".

Here is where the real fun starts, in a two week period of depositing checks and making material purchases, US Bank charged me over $700 in overdraft charges. Not being able to access my account on line I didn't find it out until I went into the bank. One $35.00 fee was for being overdrawn less than 50 cents.

By this time I am so mad and pissed off I just left the bank. A few days later I went into the bank to pay what the bank was out of pocket ($65.00) and pay 2 - $35.00 overdraft fees. The debit card was immediately destroyed and all action on the account stopped.

A few months later I received a letter from US Bank stating that I owed them over $800, which I ignored, my mistake. At this point the bank had not one cent out of pocket and had generated what I call extortion fees because they approved purchases when funds did not exist. I would even call it Premeditated Extortion because US BANK knew exactly what they were doing by approving the purchase. I will go so far as saying OK charge me for the first overage (my Fault), beyond that it is extortion and it is premeditated extortion. Simply decline the purchase.

Now for the best part of all, a year later, US Bank charged off what they call a lose, of what never really existed, but only in their doctored books. A law firm has picked up the charge off for most likely $20 and is suing me for just under $1000.US Bank extorts fees and now a free lance agent is now attempting to capitalize on the extortion.

I really would like an answer to all this, I would also like to know where the government is during all this. Excuse me I know where the government is, sipping dry martinis with bank execs.
